Start an equipment upgrade with a defined reason: recurring faults, usage pressure, a new activity or a usability problem. A newer model is not automatically the better choice.
Review the current equipment
Gather service history, usability feedback and available usage data. Distinguish an item needing repair from one that no longer suits the audience or operating plan.
Compare options against the same task
Where possible, let relevant users and staff try the options. Compare adjustments, operating ranges, entry, dimensions and service. Check console, network and subscription requirements where these are part of the model.
Plan the replacement
Check removal and delivery access, power, floor compatibility and clearances. Agree who handles dismantling, transport and installation, and what remains available to users during the work.
Define the intended improvement
Decide what to review after the upgrade: fewer service requests, easier use or support for a new activity. Revisit feedback after a period of use rather than assessing only the delivery day.
